Who's Marlene

Marlene Turner left her beautiful birth home of Trinidad in the late eighties. She fell into the world of babies while working with the elderly in Boston. A relative observed her people skills and her common sense and gentle approach, dealing with a difficult patient and asked if she would care for a mother and newborn. That’s when the story began! Her gentle and humorous manner while sharing her knowledge was described as magical. She began traveling around the US, worked in thirty three (33) states with as many as five hundred plus babies. All by word of mouth! Her clientele comprised of some of the most influential people in the country. She became known for her gentle firmness and getting babies on routines, schedules, and sleeping through the night. Her demand was great, as she expertly worked with twins. When asked to make a trip from Atlanta to Portland in 2007 to work with a newborn, she instantly fell in love with the city and its laid back style. Marlene returned three times, worked with two sets of twins and in 2010, a single baby girl. The timing was right and Marlene made Portland her permanent home.
